From icky to thumpin’ #thewhitestripes

When I first walked into the former Rascals I held my breath…. It was for lack of a better word ‘nasty’ and ummm sticky; a classic Milwaukee dive bar. However, despite it’s less than state it was ripe full of potential. Over the course of three months, the entire space was gutted and renovated literally from top to bottom. The end result is what is Izzy Hops Swig & Nosh.

The current vibe is a comfortable, laid-back modernized sports bar with layered design that embraces custom-designed light fixtures, geometric wallpaper, playful art and a back room with a hops wall and bubbling fountain. The bar's tables and long wooden bar were built from 100-year-old Wisconsin walnut, which is augmented with high-tech LED lighting which takes on an increasingly warm. Izzy Hops is a cozy destination.
